Tim Staump

Owner & Drums

Tim Staump is a musician, producer, songwriter, musical entrepreneur, and the owner of Staump Music School and CEO of Staump Productions.

Already well-known as a skilled and versatile drummer, his expertise extends to the fields of concert promotion, engineering, and music production. 

He remains an active performer both in the studio and on stage. His background includes having studied under such legendary drummers as Zoro, Mark Schulman, Daniel Glass and Bruce Becker. 

Based on his impassioned approach and commitment to percussive studies, he has become a respected music educator and member of the Vic Firth education team. Some local artists that Tim has worked with include San Diego singer-songwriters Marissa Rose and Rachel Bradford. 

Founding Staump Music School in 2008 was a way for Tim to sustain his passion for enriching the lives of others through music, becoming an advocate for musical education through alternate means while providing independent musicians and children of all ages with quality and affordable music education, studio services and mentorship. 

In addition, he is involved with the local community as a former board member of the Santee Chamber of Commerce.

Rachel Bradford

Voice, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Songwriting

Rachel Bradford is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with proficiency in voice, guitar, piano, bass, and ukulele. A San Diego native, she studied voice under vocal coach Ken Stacey and at Artistmax under Ken Caillat. 

She received an Associate Degree in Music from Grossmont College as a voice major under the direction of Dr. Randall Tweed. Rachel teaches group voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, bringing her talent, dedication and real-world performing experience into the classroom with trademark passion
and enthusiasm. 

Her love for music is exemplified by her ability to share her own original compositions as much as it is by teaching others to play their favorite songs. She has performed for audiences all over Southern California at venues that include the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, Lestat’s West, the Santee Summer Concert Series and the NAMM show 2016. 

She is an ASCAP recognized songwriter as well as a Grammy U member, and released her debut EP “Somehow” in 2013. Having launched her own career under the tutelage of Tim Staump, Rachel is singularly qualified to guide and mentor students through the school, epitomizing the Staump values of quality, dedication and musical excellence in every possible way.

​​Wes Haskell

Piano, Guitar, Drums, Bass, Ukulele

Wes Haskell teaches drums, piano, guitar, bass, & ukulele at Staump Music School. He is a seasoned performer in his own right as well as being a student of music himself. Wes has earned an Associate Degree in Classical Music Studies from Grossmont College in El Cajon. 
Teaching music is his life’s work, his mission to inspire new generations of young players and prepare them for a rewarding and musical future. Known for his patience, enthusiasm and his passionate approach to learning, he approaches each lesson with trademark energy, whether he is teaching theory and rudiments or facilitating a full-on rock
band experience. 

A native of San Diego, he has performed for audiences all over Southern California at iconic venues that include the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, the House of Blues and the San Diego County Fair. Some of Wes’ former projects include playing drums for Jay Chu, and holding down rhythm guitar and piano duties for local singer-songwriters Marissa Rose and
Rachel Bradford. 

His primary influences are Tim Staump, Rich Redmond, Mark Schulman, Zoro the Drummer, James Morton and Daniel Glass.
